Minimum Requirements
Master's degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in career development with individuals with intellectual disabilities are required. Candidates should have a minimum of 2 years experience working in post-secondary education with students with intellectual disabilities. Preference will be given to candidates with specialization in human services, business administration, or job development. Candidates with an equivalent combination of experience and/or education are encouraged to apply.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
The successful candidate will have extensive prior experience in developing meaningful paid employment opportunities for individuals with intellectual disabilities, and in providing the support necessary for successful employment. Applicants should also have evidence of success in supporting employers and developing collaborative relations with employers. Applicants must also have a strong understanding of the statewide postsecondary programs within SC, and be able to advocate for graduates of the programs. Applicants must be willing to work in a collaborative setting with business leaders, Vocational Rehab, and other stakeholders. Strong communication skills are essential.
Additional Comments Regarding Position
Some travel will be required, locally, regionally, and nationally. Candidates must be willing to travel to meet with potential employers.

This position is funded by other than State monies and continuation of this position is contingent upon availability of these funds.
Salary is commensurate with education/experience which exceeds the minimum requirements.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
