RMC is seeking a Linux Systems Engineer responsible for maintaining various Linux-based virtual machines, server health checks, server hardening and patching, backup and disaster recovery planning, and automation using Ansible.
The Linux systems administrator will provide technical knowledge on tasks or technology assignments and lead communication and collaboration with the technical leadership team.
The successful candidate will:
Serve as the on-site Linux SME for the US Navy IPT programmatic and technical leads, communicating critical and time sensitive planning, performance, and risk mitigation directly to the technical leadership team.
Monitor system performance including legacy servers and cloud systems.
Solve legacy server and cloud & virtualization issues.
Maintain and develop Red Hat based solutions in a virtual environment.
Write custom start scripts for various applications.
Evaluate and implement potential new tools and technologies.
Fluency in programming/scripting skills for automation Requirements:
BS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Management Information Systems, Information Security, Data Science, Analytics, Physics, Math, or other Computer Science related field Ten (10) years of relevant experience with Linux-based IT systems and applications such as Splunk, and Ansible Tower Experience with other NIX operating systems and MacOS.
RedHat Certified System Administrator (RHCSA).
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Currently possess DOD 8570, IAT Level II Security
ce certification or equivalent.
Currently possess a secret security clearance.
Preferences:
Experience with DoD Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) implementation/maintenance for approved operating systems.
RMC employees may be subject to current COVID protocol requirements in order to access government facilities.
