6a-2p Electrical Maintenance Technician Job Description Design and rebuild electrical sequence control circuitry Develop and appropriate PC program for production machinery Troubleshoot, repair, and calibrate heat controllers, power supplies, and temperature recorders Problem-solve and repair electronic, numerically controlled servo and stepper motor controller/drive systems Problem-solve and repair automated production machinery and electrical logic control circuits Identify probable failure causes of automated production machinery with Allen-Bradley PLC/SLC's, DC Drives, AC Drives, and servo systems and Variable Frequency Drives Follow-up with corrective action to minimize downtime Troubleshoot and repair pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical control systems.
Work with the Preventative Maintenance program Train others on the use, troubleshooting, and repair of equipment in an effort to alleviate downtime Complete documentation of work orders, purchase orders, and reports as necessary Occasionally function as back-up support for Mechanical Maintenance Technicians Must be flexible to work overtime and any shift as required Electrical Maintenance Technician
Qualifications:
High School diploma or general education degree (GED) required; trade school a plus Five years industrial experience; completion of Apprenticeship/Journeyman program Must possess good written and oral communication skills Two years training and experience with Allen-Bradley PLC-5 or SLC-500's including analog inputs and outputs, math functions, and MOVE statements Siemens S5/S7 training/experience considered a plus Must be able to train others effectively Knowledge of automated machinery control circuitry including programmable controllers Working knowledge of common maintenance tools Ability to weld preferred General knowledge and experience in power transmissions, pneumatics, electrical, hydraulics, etc as applicable in manufacturing and packaging equipment Proven fabrication skills and ability to read blueprints and drawings Basic machining experience in mill or lathe and ability to interpret precision measurement instruments (ie caliper, dial indicator, etc.
