Trailer Mechanic

System One is currently seeking a skilled Trailer Mechanic for an opportunity in North Charleston, SC.
Summary:
Our trailer mechanics work to keep trailers and other vehicles in sound mechanical condition.
Technicians will service, inspect, diagnose and repair trailer bodies, systems and components.
Job Duties:
Performing preventative maintenance measures on tanks and trailers.
Assembling and dissembling equipment and cleaning the fuel tanks.
Maintaining hubs and axles and adjusting or replacing them when required.
Inspecting, servicing, and replacing trailer parts, including tires.
Checking and repairing the brake, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
Testing all systems and equipment for performance issues.
Ensuring that trailers meet the U.
S.
Department of Transportation's road safety requirements.
Compiling inspection reports, documenting repairs, and reporting all findings to management.
Responding as soon as possible to client queries.
Qualifications:
3 - 5 years of mechanic experience working on trailers, tanks or vessels Ability to diagnose failures and make repairs on mechanical, electrical or other various systems on a trailer.
High School Diploma or GED required Knowledge of air brake systems and repairs A working knowledge A.

systems TIG welding experience preferred Basic computer skills Proven ability to problem solve and quickly obtain and apply knowledge Recommended Skills Assembly And Installation Gas Tungsten Arc Welding Mechanical Engineering Preventive Maintenance Problem Solving Tires Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.
