Summary:
The Lab Supervisor will oversee the routine functions of the laboratory, including staffing and ensuring the laboratory is meeting quality standards.
Job Functions:
Prepares schedules, coordinates job assignments and monitors personnel Assists in the selection, training, assignments, evaluations, and discipline of employees Ensure smooth running of the lab, which includes monitoring staff, supplies, and any other problem which can affect the smooth running of the establishment.
Ensure the practice stays well within medical guidelines, ethics and laws Ensure all records of facility are maintained properly and are up to date Oversees quality assurance and institutes practices to assure proper quality control.
Takes direction and initiate actions (cross/additional training) that will allow the assumption of cross-functional duties to ensure seamless operations.
Consistently demonstrate ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
Minimize non-productive time and fill slow periods with activities that will enable you to prepare to meet the future needs of the System (education, organizing, housekeeping, and assisting others).
Organize job functions and work area to be able to effectively complete varied assignments within established time frames.
Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information; responding to requests; building rapport; participating in team problem-solving methods.
Responsible for ensuring all lab staff are properly trained in their assigned departments, along with all supporting areas of the Lab Responsible for maintaining/completing competencies of new/current lab staff Timekeeping Responsibilities May require working beyond regular scheduled hours and on weekends during lab downtime or during any other computer/lab issues Orchard administrative duties - adding tests, adding new providers and quality control LabCorp administrative duties - responsible for allowing new users access to Beacon, monitoring quality control on results, and any other duties Point of contact for Central Lab staff and all PPCP site locations aiding with any lab processing questions, site demands, and patient care Other duties assigned as assigned Position
Qualifications:
Education:
Associate's Degree (preferred) License/Certification:
MLT or MT Certification (required) Experience - Minimum of 5 years of laboratory experience required; minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience required Knowledge of laboratory regulations, protocols and procedures Analytical and Critical Thinking Skills Job Type:
