Description

The Sitework Estimator - Civil Construction - Charleston will:

  • Project Analysis:
    Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand the scope, requirements, and constraints of the construction project.
  • Quantity Takeoffs:
    Quantify the materials, labor, and equipment required for the project by performing quantity takeoffs.
    This involves measuring and counting various components, such as concrete, steel, pipes, and other materials.
  • Cost Estimation:
    Use historical data, industry knowledge, and software tools to estimate costs accurately.
    This includes calculating labor costs, material costs, equipment costs, and other associated expenses.
  • Vendor and Subcontractor Coordination:
    Contact suppliers, subcontractors, and other vendors to obtain quotes and pricing information for materials and services.
    Evaluate and compare bids to determine the most cost-effective options.
  • Budget Development:
    Work closely with project managers and stakeholders to develop and refine project budgets.
    Provide cost breakdowns and detailed estimates to assist in budget planning.
  • Cost Tracking:
    Monitor and track project costs throughout the construction process to ensure that the project stays within budget.
    Identify cost variances and recommend cost-saving measures when necessary.
  • Risk Assessment:
    Identify potential risks and uncertainties that may affect project costs and timelines.
    Develop contingency plans and risk assessments to mitigate potential issues.
  • Bid Preparation:
    Prepare comprehensive and competitive bids for construction projects when the company is pursuing new contracts or projects.
  • Communication:
    Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, engineers, project managers, and subcontractors, to communicate cost-related information effectively.

Profile

The Sitework Estimator - Civil Construction - Charleston should have:

  • Bachelor's degree in civil engineering, construction management, or a related field is often preferred but not always required.
  • Relevant work experience in construction estimating, 3
    years.
  • Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and processes.
  • Proficiency in using construction estimating software and other relevant tools.
  • Excellent mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
  • Understanding of construction contracts and legal requirements.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
