Job Description


The Burn Center Outreach Education and Business Development Coordinator reports to the Burn Program Manager. This position requires current clinical knowledge of burn care to develop and coordinate burn education for pre-hospital, hospital, industry, educational institutions, members of the community and any other interested institutions or agencies. Continued contact with these institutions and groups required to ensure access, information, and ongoing education. Educational offerings must be designed to meet the specific needs of the requesting agency/group. This RN will coordinate and instruct the Advanced Burn Life Support (ABLS) program for pre-hospital and healthcare professionals. This position will require travel throughout the state and on occasion outside of the state for regional or national events where the South Carolina Burn Center has a significant role in outreach education.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:


  • Develops burn education sessions for pre-hospital, hospital, industry, educational institutions, members of the community and any other interested institutions or agencies.
  • Coordinates the scheduling of the burn outreach education presentations.
  • Delivers burn education sessions to outreach partners throughout the state
  • Collaborates with the interdisciplinary team and community partners for the development and implementation of burn awareness and prevention programs.
  • Develops educational burn materials for dissemination to requesting groups.
  • Maintains ongoing relationship with referral agencies to provide follow-up with opportunities for improvement

Additional Job Description


RN Licensure in State of South Carolina
Minimum of 5 years clinical RN experience in emergency or critical care nursing, burn care experience preferred
ABLS certifications preferred, with requirement to achieve in first 18 months
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Demonstrate problem-solving skills, organizational skills, and computer skill
