Overview
This Data Visualization Engineer will join the Data Science Department as part of an R&D effort responsible for designing and implementing processes and layouts for complex, large-scale data sets used for modelling, data mining, research, and the discovery of new products and studies. In addition to new discoveries, this position will play an integral role in developing reporting and visual aids for both internal and external exploration of data.
Responsibilities
Implement and build new reports and visualizations on top of the big data warehouse for both internal and external access
Responsible for building visuals to present findings after the completion of research projects
Maintain and rebuild the data science study application used to display past studies and objectives
Requirements
Practical ability to visualize data, communicate the data, and utilize it effectively
Demonstrable skills with HTML 5, CSS and modern Javascript libraries and frameworks
Familiarity with various data architectures such as Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL, Mongo, Hadoop
Ability to creatively transform business objectives into actionable items
Experience with open source (D3, High Charts, etc) and/or commercial (Tableau, SAS, SAP, etc) reporting and visualization products a plus.
Education
Graduate Degree in Data Science, Mathematics,
computer
Science, or related quantitative field, or a Bachelors plus at least 2 years of related experience
