To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/29/2020. Time-In-Grade Requirement:
Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-12 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-11. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note:
Time-In-Grade requirements also apply to former Federal employees applying for reinstatement as well as current employees applying for Veterans Employment Opportunities Act of 1998 (VEOA) appointment. Individual Occupational Requirements Basic Education Requirement:
Must possess a bachelor's or graduate/higher level degree with a course of study in an accredited college or university leading that included major field of study related to the medical field, health sciences or allied sciences appropriate to the work of this position. Evaluation of Experience for Grants Administration Positions:
For positions at grades GS-12 and above involved in professional work in grants administration, qualifying experience is considered to be experience in grants administration in areas of science, medical and healthcare fields similar or related to the work of the position. Such experience must have involved professional judgment of a kind and level of difficulty and responsibility essential to successful performance in the position to be filled. Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-11, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
possessing working experience coordinating daily Surgical Pathology functions either independently or in collaboration with physicians; overseeing and performing work in the accessioning and grossing areas, assuring proper processing of tissue specimens especially those requiring special handling (i.e., kidney biopsies, muscle biopsies, frozen sections, immunohistochemistry, etc.); applying regulatory, licensing, accrediting agency requirements, and statutes governing clinical laboratory operations. Physical Requirements:
The work requires prolonged periods of standing while performing gross examinations and teaching others to do so, current bending when performing frozen sections, sitting, and intense concentration in noisy and congested areas. It occasionally involves lifting objects under 50 pounds.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
