The incumbent provides support and guidance to all personnel in the Service. The work requires specific knowledge of the mission and function of Nutrition and Food Service. The incumbent must understand how the clinical and administrative sections inter-relate and how they both relate to the mission of the Service and the VA Medical Center. S/he will develop and practice positive relationships with other services, coworkers, patients, and other customers in order to enhance the ability to expedite the activities/functions of the Service and VA Medical Center. Incumbent independently receives a variety of questions, concerns, and complaints from customers. Uses knowledge of Service and Medical Center to resolve or direct the issue to the responsible Nutrition and Food Service personnel and documents each encounter in the computer data base for the purpose of quality improvement. This position involves performing receptionist duties, including making and receiving telephone calls for the Service and Service Staff in a courteous and timely manner, including but not limited to maintaining appointment schedules for one or more outpatient clinics. Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-6 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-5. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials. Note:

Specialized
Experience:
You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade, GS-5, in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to:
Preparing correspondence, reports and spreadsheets; perform timekeeping responsibilities. You will be rated on the following Competencies for this position:

Physical Requirements:
Work is sedentary in nature with possible prolonged periods of sitting in one position. Susceptibility to eye strain from constantly working with figures and computer screens. Susceptibility to wrist strain with constant working on calculators and computer terminals. Some walking, standing, bending, and occasional carrying of light items from one area to another. The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
